Alumni web site moved to new platform

On Sunday, Feb. 3, our web site was successfully moved to the new hosting

platform.

IPower, our internet hosting company, will eventually move all web sites it

hosts to a new platform, which it says would offer better response time and

overall reliability.

However, the move was not easy. Due to structural differences between the new

and old system, the scripts generating the dynamic pages (alumni directory and

forum) have to be changed. The technical support at IPower offered little

help -- many they claimed not changed in fact changed. It took 2 months to

finally finish the move, yet we still don't know if everything works.

As of now, we are happy to see this site live again.
